Overview

Reporting directly to the Managing Director.

Our client, an established small but very effective Physical Trading Division of a much larger Trading Group Company, who trade, distribute and manufacture metals, metal products and chemicals in various countries worldwide.

Specialising in the sale of Non-Ferrous commodity metals worldwide and current trade Tin, Copper, Antimony and Tungsten. The Company is now looking to expand the product coverage, keen to hire an experienced Metal Trader whom would be responsible for developing and building a new physical metal trading book..

This is an opportunity for Senior Trader to join the team, who will be required to specialised in another Metal/Metals such as Primary or Secondary Aluminium, Primary or Secondary Lead, Zinc and Nickel.

The ideal candidate would be able to bring along his/her portable business, with their own established contacts to the business and will have a portfolio of contacts. The candidate would need to be able to demonstrate a previous profitable track record, a strong market reputation together with a viable business strategy plan.

 

Administration:-

Experienced shipping and accounting supporting functions will be provided for the Trader. Additional support will also be provided where necessary.

 

Person Specification:-

The right candidate will have an extensive knowledge and experience of the metals/materials and will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a Metals Trading Company with a good provenance and reputation.

 

Requirements:

  • 5 years related experience, within commodities
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics/finance
  • Working knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Excellent organisation and communication skills required
  • Strong working knowledge of documentation related to contract execution such as shipping and banking documents
  • Ability to work both independently and together in a team, sharing work duties, files, and working cooperatively with others
  • Demonstrated proficiency with details, numbers and communication.
